Organization positioning
Pureplenish Farmers Producer Company Limited is managed by Agrigenic Farmers Producer Company Limited and is responsible for overall project operations, farmer engagement, procurement, and implementation of activities across the program.
Regenerative Practices
Regenerative agriculture practices focus on strengthening soil health, biodiversity, and climate resilience through diversified systems like crop rotation and intercropping. Farmers are supported in using organic and biological inputs, alongside soil-restoring amendments such as biochar, compost, and manure. Practices like green manuring and the integration of horticulture crops further enhance soil fertility, improve moisture retention, and diversify income. Together, these approaches promote ecological restoration, sustainable cotton production, and stronger livelihoods for smallholder farmers.
Social Impact Highlights
Strengthened women’s empowerment and rural livelihoods by developing artisan clusters in hand spinning, weaving, and tailoring, while improving market access through partnerships with brands like Fabindia. Supported rural education through digital learning tools and enhanced curricula for more accessible, interactive learning. Advanced community resilience through water conservation initiatives, including pond restoration and watershed interventions, enabling significant rainwater harvesting and improved groundwater recharge in rainfed regions.
Transition Programs
Pureplenish Farmers Producer Company Limited is currently working with approximately 3,500 farmers under our organic and regenerative agriculture programs. Out of these, around 1000 farmers are fully certified under the USDA-NOP organic standard, while the remaining 2,500 farmers are under organic in-conversion cotton cultivation, progressing through the transition phase toward full organic certification. In addition, around 1,500 farmers within the project (farmers from in-conversion) are certified under the regenagri standard.
The project is also being developed under the Verra carbon framework using the VM0042 methodology for agricultural land management and regenerative agriculture interventions. The draft Project Design Document (PDD) has already been submitted, while the final PDD submission and appointment of the Validation and Verification Body (VVB) are currently under process for carbon project registration and future carbon credit generation.
