Steps to License

with the ROA

You have the power to heal the planet.

Regenerative Organic Certified® is a global farm-based, brand-driven certification for food, beverage, body care and textile production that is helping to heal our planet. With regenerative organic agriculture, we can rehabilitate soil, respect animal welfare, and improve the lives of farmers and farm workers. We can sequester carbon, build healthier communities, and reap more nutritious and abundant yields.

Everyone who eats or wears clothes (that includes you!) can play a role in the movement for regenerative organic agriculture by creating foods, fibers, and personal care products with the Regenerative Organic Certified® label. When consumers purchase Regenerative Organic Certified®, they know at-a-glance that your product makes a positive impact on the farm at every level: environmentally, ethically, and socially.  Join us, as a leader in your industry to make a positive impact for all.

The Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA) requires anyone making claims or using the Regenerative Organic Certified® marks to license with the ROA and agree to our labeling guidelines.  This helps us ensure the integrity and traceability of our certification standard.

The licensing process is simple and starts with our online application.  See below for a step-by-step guide to licensing with the Regenerative Organic Alliance.  We are looking forward to helping you on your journey!

Step 1: Complete online application

The first step to licensing with the ROA is to complete our online application.  During the application process you will be required to upload the completed License Agreement, your Brand Regenerative Organic System Plan, any applicable Supply Chain Actor Disclosure forms, Claimed Material Worksheet and product labels for review and approval (if available).  If you have any questions during the application process, please email label@regenorganic.org.

Our team will review the application and will reach out with any questions.

Step 2: Receive License

When all required applicant information has been received, our team will issue a license. The license will list the specific products your organization is licensed to sell with Regenerative Organic Certified® claims. When you wish to add new Regenerative Organic Certified® products to your license, you will submit updated Claimed Material Worksheet to label@regenorganic.org.

Step 3: Bring Regenerative Organic Certified® products to market!

Now you are ready to sell your certified products to consumers! Our communications team will work with you to connect you to our growing community of brands and growers, as well as help to amplify your message to consumers through our communication channels.

Step 4: Complete desk audit

To ensure traceability and volume reconciliation the ROA requires a desk audit within 3-6 months of receiving your annual license.  Here is guidance to help you prepare for the audit.
