Why Get Certified?

Growing food and fiber through industrial methods has devastated our soil and climate. Forecasts have predicted that global topsoils will deplete in less than 60 years at our current rate, while studies have proven that conventional, industrial agriculture contributes up to 25% of the emissions driving the climate crisis. But there is hope.

With regenerative organic agriculture, we can rehabilitate soil, respect animal welfare, and improve the lives of farmers. We can sequester carbon, build healthier communities, and reap more nutritious and abundant yields.

Regenerative Organic Certified® is the most rigorous, high-bar certification that exists for food, fiber, and personal care products. Be recognized in the movement of growers stewarding their land through regenerative organic practices — and signal to buyers that your products are unparalleled in their holistic quality.

Apply for Certification

Before beginning an application, please make sure you have read and understand the full Regenerative Organic Certified® framework and governing documents, available at RegenOrganic.org/Resources.

Before you begin, make sure you have at hand:

    • Completed Operation Information & Certification Contract (OICC)
    • A copy of current certifications and annual review reports
    • A copy of your organic system plan (OSP)
    • Maps of operation
    • Completed Regenerative Organic System Plan
    • For ICS managed grower groups, a copy of internal control systems

Online Application form

Here you will fill out and submit your details for application.

You will receive an email confirming the receipt of your application and be invoiced for your one-time, non-refundable application fee.

After the CB’s review of the final report and certification decision, the ROA will issue the certificate.

You are now able to sell any crops or products grown or raised on your ROC land as Regenerative Organic Certified®!  Your operation will be listed in our online ROC Directory, making it easy for processors and brands to find your organization and crops to purchase.

An annual audit is required to achieve and maintain ROC status.  The ROA will hold an open renewal period from Aril 1 – April 20 of each year.

Financial Support for Certification

We want to make it possible for all eligible farmers to earn Regenerative Organic Certified, regardless of cost.

Farmer Cost-Share Fund

Modeled after the National Organic Program cost-share fund, which helps farmers pursuing organic certification, our Farmer Cost-Share Fund helps offset costs of the ROC certification process. For many farmers, this funding makes it possible for them to earn certification and the market premium that follows.

Community-Based Fee Waivers

We will waive the Annual ROA Fee for 501(c)3 non-profit farms who donate a significant portion (>50%) of their produce to support and feed the community. Farms that advance the return of historically marginalized farmers to the land or have established educational internship programs teaching regenerative organic practices are encouraged to inquire about fee waivers. Please inquire about your eligibility by reaching out to info@regenorganic.org.
