Location: Remote, with flexible availability to align with Finance Manager’s needs
Reports to: Finance Manager (operates on EST)
Job Type: Hourly, 10-20 hours per week
Salary: $20-25 per hour

Position Overview:

The ROA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Coordinator to support the ROA Finance Manager in performing various accounting and finance functions. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes and supporting the broader organizational needs. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and passionate about regenerative organic agriculture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the ROA Finance Manager with performing accounting and finance functions, including but not limited to:
    • Accounts receivable: QuickBooks invoicing, payment application, aging reviews, and follow-ups
    • Managing inquiries to the ROA accounting inbox, primarily related to farm and brand questions and clarifications related to our certification and license fees
    • Bookkeeping, primarily through recording the daily sync of bank activity
    • Monthly systematic bank reconciliations
    • Systematic payroll processing
    • Miscellaneous Excel-based analysis and tool development
    • Preparation and refinement of draft policies and methodologies
  • Support other operational needs across the organization as time and skills permit

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or in process of obtaining) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Basic accounting knowledge and awareness to understand journal entry structuring and key financial statements
  • Related work experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Gusto is a plus
  • Tech-savvy, especially with Microsoft Excel and Office 365 (including Outlook)
  • Professional written communication
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, independent, and organized
  • Passionate about regenerative organic agriculture, certification, food systems, farming, animal welfare, and social justice
